Calico or tortoiseshell?
A calico has distinct patches of white, orange, and black. A tortoiseshell, or tortie, has orange and black mixed together, often with little white. A coat with softer grey and cream instead is called a dilute calico or dilute tortie. Pattern names like Patches and Mosaic suit a calico; speckled names like Freckles and Nutmeg suit a tortie.
