Your shortlist is local by default

Names you save are stored in your browser, with the animal, meaning and the time you saved them. You do not need an account, and your shortlist is not sent to us.

You can remove names one by one, clear the list, or clear this site's data in your browser. Saved names do not move to other browsers or devices.

The standard generator uses our own name lists. If you turn on Creative Mode, we send your chosen animal, gender, style, length and starting letter to an AI provider to suggest names. Your saved list is not sent.

The generator does not ask you to type anyone's name. Please do not enter personal or confidential information.

To prevent abuse, we limit how often requests can be made from each IP address. This is not added to our analytics.

We use an error-monitoring service on every page to find and fix problems. It may receive technical details about your visit. We do not send it your names, saved list or meanings. Browser privacy settings and blockers may stop it loading.

We use privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and actions such as using the generator, saving or copying a name, and finishing the quiz. These events include the page, an anonymous ID for that browser tab, the filters you chose and simple counts.

Your names, saved list and meanings are never added to analytics. The analytics provider may receive technical details about your visit.

Other websites we link to have their own privacy practices. When you copy or share, the content goes to your clipboard or the app you choose.

A shared quiz link contains your seven answer choices and pet type so the same result can be shown. It does not contain any names or free text. Anyone with the link can see those choices.

We do not have a public privacy inbox or contact form yet. The corrections page will show one when it is available.
